What GizPulse is for

GizPulse is Africa’s tech, explained. We report and analyse technology news from Nigeria and across the continent (startups, AI, telecoms, fintech and policy), publish verified how-to guides for Nigerian readers, and curate careers and opportunities worth a reader’s time. Our job is to help readers understand what happened, why it matters to them, and what to do next.

How we choose what to publish

Before we write, we ask what a piece will give a reader that the existing coverage does not: original reporting, a verified method, local Nigerian or African context, a comparison we built, or a clear verdict. If we cannot answer that, we do not publish.

Sourcing and verification

News stories rely on at least three credible sources, including at least one primary source such as a company statement, regulator notice, filing or official page. Guides and analysis start from official sources. We link to sources in the article, next to the claims they support, and to the original wherever we can.

If something is reported but not confirmed, we say so. We do not make up quotes, figures or experience, and we only say we tested something if we did.

These are the standards we hold new articles to. Older articles are being reviewed and brought up to the same standard, starting with our most-read pages.

Review before publication

Every article is checked against our editorial standard before it goes live: facts are verified against primary sources, the writing is edited, and claims we cannot support are removed. GizPulse and its named editors remain accountable for everything we publish.

Independence and fairness

GizPulse makes editorial decisions independently. We do not accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage, and we distinguish clearly between editorial content, sponsored material and promotion whenever the distinction is relevant. Any sponsored or affiliate content is labelled.

Updates and corrections

Stories change. When new verified information materially changes a published article, we update it and add a visible update note. The “Updated” date on an article appears only when its content truly changed, and we never change dates to make content look newer. Factual errors are handled under our Corrections Policy.

Guides

Our how-to guides say who they are for, give steps we have verified or clearly label steps we have not, explain common errors, and show when the guide was last reviewed. For guides about official processes such as NYSC, we link the official source and tell readers when to confirm details with the organisation.

Careers, jobs and opportunities

We publish scholarships, fellowships, bootcamps and jobs only with a direct link to the organisation’s official page, and we verify facts there. Each piece states who can apply, including whether it is open to readers in Nigeria and Africa, and shows when we last verified it. We never ask readers for money, and we do not accept payment to list an opportunity. Deadlines, eligibility rules and pay can change after publication, so readers should confirm important details with the official organisation before acting.

Authors and accountability

News, startup and guide articles carry a named author, and author pages describe who they are. Careers listings are published by the GizPulse editorial desk. GizPulse remains accountable for the accuracy, sourcing, updates and corrections of everything published under its name.

Images

We use licensed images, credit the photographer and source, and write accurate descriptions. Where we can, we use images that show the actual company, place or product. We do not use images that misrepresent a story.
