Swiss Government (Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students, FCS)
Deadline Nov 27
PhD and research scholarships in Switzerland paying CHF 2,450 a month. Deadlines differ by country: Nigeria and Ghana close 27 November 2026, Kenya and South Africa 30 November, Egypt 10 November.
Fannie and John Hertz Foundation
Deadline Oct 30
The Hertz Fellowship funds up to five years of PhD study in science, math and engineering, valued at up to $250,000. Only open to US citizens and permanent residents. Closes 30 October 2026.
University of Oxford and the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust
Deadline Dec 1
Oxford's Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarship pays full fees and at least £21,805 a year for 40 master's courses. Open to residents of eligible countries, including most of Africa. First deadlines 1 December 2026.
University of Cape Town and the Mastercard Foundation
Deadline Oct 31
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UCT covers tuition, campus housing, living costs and travel for African postgraduates. Only open to citizens of African countries. Closes 31 October 2026.
The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Deadline Oct 29
Immigrants and children of immigrants can win up to $90,000 for graduate school in the US. Only open to applicants who meet the New American rules. Closes 29 October 2026.
NVIDIA Research
Deadline Oct 30
NVIDIA is funding PhD researchers in AI, graphics, robotics and computer architecture with awards of up to $60,000. International students can apply until 30 October 2026.
